San Francisco de Mostazal Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely Chilean red wine made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and aged 8 months in French and American oak barrels. The grapes are grown at the Vino de Ezyaguirre's vineyard, San Jorge, located in the heart of the Colchagua Valley on the south bank of the Tinguiririca River, 55 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean and 45 kilometers from the Andes. The soil near the river is deep and stony with clay and is good at retaining moisture. The 26-years-old vines that are the basis for this wine grow here.

Wine maker story: In the mid-17th century, the Eyzaguirre family left their home in Vizcaya, Spain, and traveled to Chile to seek their fortune. In 1768 Domingo Ezyaguirre was appointed mayor of the capital city of Santiago. His son, Domingo Ezyaguirre II, planted some of the first vines from French rootstock and founded the Vino de Ezyaguirre near a village built by monks from a nearby Franciscan monastery
